When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, all I could think about was whether or not I was having a boy or girl. At first I wanted it to be a surprise, but I became so OCD with organization that I needed to know asap! I just couldn’t wait to get started on the nursery room, pick out items for the baby registery, and picking out possible baby names! I wanted a more intimate reveal between myself and the baby’s father. They say you can find out as early as 17 weeks pregnant, so we booked the private ultrasound right away! Before the technician told us the gender, I shouted, “girl!”

Now comes baby number 2! My partner and I decided we wanted to find out again. This time I wanted a gender reveal party that we can share with close family and friends. I thought about doing balloons in a box, slicing into a cake, biting into a cupcake, or hitting a pinata. These are super fun and cute ideas, but I wanted to do something a little different…

I was on my Facebook and randomly saw a link to Prental Peek 3D/4D Mobile Imaging. I was curious to know how this business was ‘mobile’. I went on the website http://www.prentalpeek.ca and read it meant they come to you! You can enjoy an ultrasound of your baby in the comfort of your own home! Not only do we get to find out the gender of our little peanut, we also get to see how much our baby developed on screen! Everyone we care about can share the same experience with us! This was the perfect gender reveal!

We had the gender reveal party at my boyfriend’s parents house to ensure we had enough space to accommodate everyone. Plus they had a large tv screen! Since I went all out for my baby shower, I wanted a simple gathering with minimal decorations and dessert. I bought my decorations from the dollar store, and my daughter and I baked cupcakes and rice krispy squares. We added pink and blue sprinkles and icing. I wore pink because I felt we were having a girl, plus I wanted one, and my daughter asked for a baby brother so she wore blue. Daddy wore white because he was neutral, but deep down inside he was hoping for a boy.

I contacted the owner, Tracy and she was so great to talk to. Her prices are very reasonable and has a variety of packages to choose from. She answered everything I wanted to know and was very accommodating with scheduling a date. I met her for the first time at our gender reveal aparty and she was easy going and very patient (we had a full house). She made this whole experience fun and engaging for everyone at the party. She took her time to explain everything on my baby’s ultrasound, including the sound of its heartbeat! It was also nice to have these images printed out right away!

During the reveal, we had people guess and shout out the gender. I already had a feeling we were having another girl. Tracy whispered it to my daughter and she whispered it back to me, “girl!” I couldn’t be more thrilled to have another girl, as I always wanted a sister growing up. My daughter on the other hand was in total denial as she really wanted a brother. Sorry kid, you’re stuck with her!!

I had so much fun at our gender reveal party with Prenatal Peek 3D/4D Mobile Imaging that I booked for a second time! I was so anxious to see what our baby looked like and how far she has grown! At 32 weeks we saw that she looked just like her big sister!
